After showcasing the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF at the Auto Expo in February this year, the brand has officially launched the 155cc motorcycle series with a starting price tag of INR 1.12 lakh (ex-showroom). As the whole industry is working on the transition to BS6 emission norms so it was confirmed that these two bikes will also get updated to meet the new emission norms that will come into effect from April 1, 2020. Here is the variant-wise price list of the BS6-compliant Gixxer and Gixxer SF.
Both the bikes are now powered by a BS6-compliant 155cc, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine that produces 13.4HP of maximum power at 8000 rpm along with 13.8Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. The power and torque figures have decreased when compared to the BS4 engine, which was good for 14.1HP of maximum power and 14Nm of torque.
The suspension duties of the bikes are performed by telescopic forks at front along with a monoshock at the rear. The braking performance is handled by disc brakes at both ends. Like the BS4 models, the updated BS6 models are also equipped with single-channel ABS as standard.
The kerb weight of the bikes has increased too, as the naked version of the Suzuki Gixxer 155 now weighs 142kgs and the fully-faired version weighs 148kgs. Apart from the updated engine, the brand has not made any changes in terms of the design and looks of both the motorcycles. The deliveries of the BS6 Gixxer 155 series are expected to commence in the coming days.
