Suzuki is all set to launch two new full-faired motorcycles in India on May 20. One is an updated model of the Gixxer SF 150, and the second bike is the all-new Gixxer SF 250. Last week, an official image of the SF 250 got leaked online, and now, a set of eleven official undisguised photos have leaked ahead of the official launch of the sports bike.
The new set of SF 250 photos clears the fact that the design of the 150cc model and the 250cc model looks pretty close to each other but still, both the bikes have some distinguishing design elements to make each of them look unique in itself. Like the 2019 model of the SF 150, the 250cc model will also come equipped with a new white-backlit all-digital instrument console.
As expected, the SF 250 will be available in Black and White colours. It is also being said that the brand will launch the iconic Suzuki Blue shade inspired by the litre-class GSX-R1000. The complete technical specifications of the Gixxer SF 250 are also available. The bike is powered by a 249cc, fuel injected, 4-valve, SOHC, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine. It generates a maximum power of 26.5 HP at 9000 rpm with a maximum torque figure of 22.6 NM at 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The suspension duties are handled by conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is equipped with a single disc brake at the front with a single disc brake at the rear end. The sports bike will be equipped with a dual-channel ABS unit as standard.
In terms of dimensions, the Gixxer SF 250 measures 2010mm in length, 740mm in width, and 1035mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance of the bike stands at 1345mm and 165mm respectively. The seat height is quite accessible at 800mm while the fuel tank capacity is 12 litres.
The kerb weight of the Gixxer SF 250 is 161kg, which makes is 6kgs lighter in comparison to the Honda CBR250R, and 4 kgs heavier in comparison to the oil-cooled Yamaha Fazer 25. The front tyre size is 110/70-R17 and the rear tyre size is 150/60-R17. The SF 250 is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 1.50-1.60 lakh.
