The fully-faired version of the Gixxer, Gixxer SF is yet again an excellent offering by Suzuki. With some of the world class features, it also comes with a downside. Does Gixxer SF has features that fulfill the quest of your next bike? Find out here…
Pros of Gixxer SF
1) Fully Faired
Aiming for a fully faired bike? And you know it will cost you above 1 lakh. But Gixxer SF is a fully faired bike that comes at a price of Rs. 85, 373 (ex-showroom Delhi, base model). The fairing improves the aerodynamics and down-force. And this is not it! The fairing has added to the looks of the bike in real sense: sporty, stylish, head- turning and premium.
2) Powerful & Peppy Engine
Suzuki Gixxer SF comes equipped with a powerful 154.9cc engine, which develops maximum power of 14.6 BHP @ 8000 rpm and generates maximum torque of 14 NM @ 6000 rpm. It can cross the 0-100 kmph mark in 16.9 seconds, which is not bad for a bike in this price range.
3) Front & Rear Disc Brakes
The braking system of Gixxer SF becomes effective with 266mm disc brake at the front along with 240mm rear disc brake as an option. This is another added on advantage as it is rare to find bikes with disc brakes even as an option in this segment.
4) All-Digital Instrument Console
Oh yes, now you have speedometer, tachometer, gear indicator, clock, fuel gauge, odometer, trip-meter in digital on the Gixxer SF. Also, there is a handy gear shift indicator light.
5) Impressive Package
Fully faired design, disc brakes, easy riding position, premium looks, good mileage, amazing color choices that too at on-road price of Rs. 94, 765 (Delhi). What else do you expect at this price range? It is an ultra-affordable offering!!
Despite the fairing, the Gixxer SF continues to have the same ground clearance of 160 mm which is quite impressive on the part of Suzuki.
7) Excellent Riding Dynamics
Like the Gixxer, Gixxer SF continues to have a good riding dynamics which is possible due to its comfortable riding position and seat height of 780 mm. Also, the 41mm front telescopic forks and an adjustable mono-shock at the back add to the ride and handling quality of the bike.
8) Easy to Service Design
Yes, only some of you might have noticed this but Gixxer SF features a 2 piece design. This is easy to get serviced and in case of any damage or crash, you just need to get replaced the particular section than the entire fairing. Isn’t it cool?
9) Fuel-Injected Engine (Optional)
Suzuki recently launched the fuel-injected variant of Gixxer SF in India for Rs. 93,499 (Ex-showroom Delhi). Though it generates same amount of power and torque but the fuel injected variant of the Gixxer SF helps in ensuring better throttle response along with an smooth power delivery.
10) Good Build Quality
Suzuki Gixxer SF is one of the best bikes you can buy under INR 1 lakh with up to the mark build quality and refinement.

Cons of Gixxer SF
1) Air-cooled Engine
Since Gixxer SF is a faired bike with the engine covered that means the engine cannot cool off naturally and easily. Although there are special air ducts provided by Suzuki but riding for longer hours could mean a disaster. So, oil/liquid cooling is something which is mandatory for faired bikes like Gixxer SF.
2) No ABS
Although Suzuki has offered double disc brakes as a option but ABS is not in the picture so far and that’s what may keep some buyers away from Gixxer SF.
If you are the one, who is concerned about every little detail of your bike, then probably the exhaust design may bother you! It comes with a love-it hate-it design.
4) Lack of 6th Gear
Suzuki should have provided 6-speed gearbox on the Gixxer SF like other faired bikes in India like the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, Yamaha R15 and Honda CBR150R.
5) Uncomfortable Rear Seat
The pillion seat of Gixxer SF is hard and not very comfortable, making the rides tiring for the pillion rider.
