Top 10 best-selling bikes in India switched placed with each other with the start of this financial year. The list gets some interesting options while others are heavy duty commuters that are bound to keep India at ease through their easy on pocket cost and lower than ever maintenance.
The first position was bagged by Hero Splendor with 2,66,067 units, leaving behind every possible geared machine by a large margin. The number is bigger than collective sales of every brand except Honda. Even the second position was bagged by its close cousin, Hero HF Deluxe (1,72,340 units).
Honda comes in for the third position with 125cc CB Shine (1,04,048 units). The most selling geared Honda machine crossed the 1 lakh mark and became India’s best selling 125cc bike in April 2018. Hero Passion followed close with 95,834 units while the fifth position was claimed by Hero Glamour with 69,900 units.
Both Glamour and CB Shine were once selling an equal number of units (approx) but sudden fall in Glamour sales resulted in more buyers going for Honda motorcycle. Bajaj Pulsar scored 67,712 units in April 2018, claiming impressive growth for certain performance variants.
Bajaj CT100 was seventh with 59,944 units while Royal Enfield Classic 350 followed close with 52,075 units. Both bikes have a price difference of around 4 times and still, Classic 350 proves its worth in huge numbers every month. TVS Apache was good for 43,383 units. It rivals Bajaj Pulsar series in India. Bajaj Platina got itself the tenth position with 38,212 units in April 2018.
