The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS has been launched by the brand at a price tag of INR 11.13 lakh in the Indian markets. The updated motorcycle has been launched with a BS6-compliant engine in addition to getting a host of new features. One of the impressive facts on the upgrade is the similar price tag of the motorcycle’s MY2020 avatar when compared to the last-gen version.
The motorcycle will be assembled at Triumph’s production plant in Manesar, Haryana and will join the Street Triple and Tiger 800 in the list of locally-assembled Triumph motorcycles in the Indian markets.
The naked sports motorcycle was one of the most sought-after motorcycles across the entire Triumph portfolio when it was launched back in 2017 while the MY2020 version is equally exciting. The brand has equipped the next-gen Street Triple RS with a revised 765cc, liquid-cooled, in-line-triple engine that has been developed from the learning from the brand’s experience in Moto2 class.
The engine is now capable of churning out a maximum power of 123 HP and a peak torque of 79 Nm. The updated motorcycle is now good for offering an increased torque of 2Nm when compared to the last-gen variant.
In addition to this, the brand has now equipped the motorcycle with a bi-directional quickshifter that offers both upshifts and downshifts. The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS now features a revised exhaust unit that further offers a distinctive exhaust note. The gearbox on the motorcycle now features a shorter first and second gear while the slipper clutch remains the same.
Coming to the revised styling, the 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS now features new body graphics while the twin LED headlamp unit has been tweaked a bit and is now mated to the LED DRLs which are a bit sleeker. The brand has revised the TFT colour display to compliment the new design while other body panels have also been tweaked a little bit to offer it a sharper outlook.
The instrument console now features Bluetooth connectivity as well as GoPro control that can only be availed as an additional accessory. The motorcycle will be available to the customers in two colour schemes while there is no direct competitor to the 2020 Street Triple RS in the Indian markets as of yet.
