TVS Motor presented the Zeppelin cruiser motorcycle concept at the Auto Expo 2018 and it captured the attention of a large audience. But after the auto show, there was no update related to the development of the bike. While there were reports last year that the TVS brand was going to register the trademark for its upcoming cruiser bike, and an “R” was added to the trademark name, making it Zeppelin R.
But now, we have the latest update that TVS Motor has no plan to produce the motorcycle, and this information was revealed through the official Instagram page of the company. It was seen that one user named Anirudh Sriniwas commented to enquire regarding the upcoming Zeppelin. He got a reply from the brand saying “Hi, TVS Zeppelin was showcased at Auto Expo 2018. It is a concept vehicle only and not meant for production. Please stay tuned to our website or social pages for updates on new product launches.”
Speaking of the Zeppelin concept, the model exhibited at Auto Expo 2018 was equipped with a first-of-its-kind powertrain. Powering the Zeppelin concept was the 220cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine supported by an electric motor. This 1200W assist motor was combined with a 48V Li-ION battery. This bike was also kitted with TVS’ patented Integrated Starter Generator.
In terms of design and styling, the Zeppelin was designed according to a modern and innovative motif rather than a retro-classic design. Looking at some of the vital features, there was an integrated HD camera at the front fascia, internet connectivity, bio-key and a lightweight chassis with gold-finished 41mm USD front forks and mono-shock suspension at the rear end.
