TVS Racing, the factory racing squad of TVS Motor Company, set a record when their race-spec Apache RR 310 became the first Indian race bike to reach 200+ km/h. At the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, TVS Racing’s Asia OMC RR 310, which is effectively a race-spec Apache RR 310, scored a remarkable peak speed of 201.2 km/h.
TVS built the Apache RR 310 Asia OMC race bike from the ground up and is radically different from its road-legal counterpart. It has a 312cc DOHC four-valve liquid-cooled engine that produces 38% more power than the RR 310s 34 horsepower on the road.
It also gets a RAM Air Intake system, which increases top speed, as well as lightweight carbon fibre parts such as bodywork, wheels, and subframe, new Ohlins custom-built adjustable suspension, and Dunlop soft compound radial racing tyres. According to TVS Racing, this achievement shows the company’s ongoing efforts to improve its technological prowess and maintain its leadership in the two-wheeler motorsports industry.
TVS Racing has finished the first round of its Asia One-Make Championship in Malaysia. It was the world’s first road racing championship by an Indian manufacturer. The event had 16 riders from eight different countries, including three Indian riders.
