TVS Ntorq 150 may be the next big thing for the Indian brand in the scooter segment. For motorcycles, they have the much-awaited Zeppelin 220. In 2019, both the products are expected to be seen testing with their production-ready frames and panels, showing the fans how much TVS will keep from the concept versions showcased at the previous Auto Expo. The upcoming Ntorq 150 is expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020 while Zeppelin will launch in its production version before the show starts in February next year. The Entorq concept model seen at the 2016 Auto Expo came with 210 moniker with its name, but entering the segment with a more practical 150cc scooter will be volume-effective for the brand.
The render seen here from SRK Designs uses practical tire size, effective alloy wheel design and much-expected single front disc for the scooter. The Suzuki Burgman-inspired panel setup will be huge for the model while the seating looks comfortable and proportionate. The footboard is massive and all important additions are embedded into the front fairing. The current generation 125cc Ntorq is seen with a moto-scooter headlight, sporty side panels, and light front section. On the other hand, the upcoming 150cc model is expected to bring motorcycle-style handlebar, large windscreen and LED lighting.
TVS Ntorq 150 will keep additional design lines from the concept and offer the most effective 150cc scooter of its segment. The brand may even plant the bigger 150cc engine on the same design, but that won’t be equally effective due to the requirement of ABS as standard on the model. Currently, Aprilia and Vespa are the only two brands to offer 150cc scooters in India. After the launch of Ntorq 150, Suzuki and Yamaha are most likely to raise the engine benchmark with Burgman 150 and Ray ZR 150 in near future. The jump into the 150cc scooter segment by mainstream brands can raise the overall customer base for the high-displacement scooters.
