A recent report on the internet has confirmed that TVS Radeon will be the new product that the Indian manufacturer will launch on August 23, 2018. As most fans are waiting for a 125cc commuter after the discontinuation of Phoenix, the report hints at a 110cc motorcycle with all new design. The 110cc engine, if used under the Radeon brand name, will be the same three-valve unit as seen on Victor. Earlier, the Victor was a 125cc motorcycle and Radeon concept was based on that engine. Yes, the name was first heard at Auto Expo 2012 and design was highly inspired from Star City.
The 110cc, single-cylinder engine on Victor is good for 9.5 hp at 7500 rpm and 9.4 Nm at 6000 rpm. Using this motor can be a wise idea if lower price is the only concern for TVS but 125cc could have helped them rival popular options like Honda CB Shine and Hero Glamour. Also, more displacement promises better acceleration and top speed numbers for a commuter.
TVS Radeon is expected to carry modern design lines with a sharper overall body in comparison to present day models. The company claimed mileage of Victor is 72 kmpl and expectations for Radeon will stay around this figure.
TVS is an active brand that participates in every possible show with a host of new products every two years. They are currently working on Zeppelin cruiser from Auto Expo 2018, planning a launch event for their first cruiser before the next Auto Expo. The inclusion of commuter products is very important for Indian brands as a majority of buyers in India are value focused. They need a motorcycle because it’s affordable to ride and comes with minimum possible maintenance charges. Along with TVS Sport, Star City and Victor, the new Radeon can help them gain bigger numbers than before.
