Vibration Test Video: Yamaha R3 vs. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Vibration Test Video (YZF-R3 vs. Interceptor 650): An exclusive comparison of vibrations from Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Yamaha R3 brought unexpected results for YouTuber Rahul Mazumder (Ride with Rahul). After placing the half filled soft drink bottle on the fuel tank, Rahul revved the motorcycles hard to see which one gets more displacement from the bottle. The 650cc Interceptor felt more stable for body vibrations and Rahul even mentioned the rpm till which he revved both the machines.

However, the redline difference between both bikes, coupled to their engine size and type of frame resulted in variable results. The results may also vary with different conditions. Also, the bike with both tires touched to the ground will bring different results in comparison to the one with tyres in the air on the center stand. Also, the shape of fuel tank can alter the decision when doing the test yourself with different bikes.

Still, the amount of vibrations on older Royal Enfield models are too high and the bottle would have not been standing upright on any of them. Yamaha R3, on the other hand, is refined but feels overpriced for being a CKD product. The range of twin-cylinder bikes start with Interceptor 650 at INR 2.50 lakh. Yamaha R3 is priced at INR 3.49 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The Interceptor 650 Chrome costs INR 2.70 lakh.
