The 2020 Yamaha Bolt cruiser motorcycle has been recently revealed by the brand. The MY2020 version of the motorcycle is expected to be available in the Japanese markets after June 18 this year. Coming to the cosmetic alterations, the MY2020 variant of the cruiser has been imparted with a traditional retro bobber outlook while the brand has equipped the motorcycle with a single-piece LED tail light which has been mated to authentic retro-style turn indicators.
The vintage design language of the cruiser has been kept intact while the headlight has been shod with position light. The fuel tank of the motorcycle has been kept the same while the capacity still stands at 13 litres. The brand has retained the minimal graphic detailing on the body panels on its next-gen version of the motorcycle though, the seat height has been reduced to 690mm further allowing a comfortable ride even to the short riders.
The 2020 Yamaha Bolt features relaxed ergonomics for a pleasant riding experience while the brand has added an all-new Purplish Blue Metallic colour scheme for its MY2020 avatar. The motorcycle continues to feature a fully-digital instrument console while the overall profile has been retained from its last-gen version.
Powering the 2020 Yamaha Bolt is the 941cc, V-Twin, air-cooled, SOHC engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 54.3 HP at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 79.5 Nm at 3000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The claimed mileage of the cruiser stands at 20 kmpl.
The all-new motorcycle variant will be available in the Japanese markets in two trims namely Standard and R. The former will be priced at JPY 9,79,000 (INR 6.96 lakh) and will be available in the Black Metalic colour option. The brand has equipped the standard variant of the cruiser with spoke wheels while the R variant has been equipped with cast wheels setup.
The brand has further imparted the R variant with gold detailing in the rear suspension that adds to the motorcycle’s premium outlook. The 2020 Yamaha Bolt R will be available to the customers in the Japanese markets in a Purplish Blue Metallic colour scheme at a price tag of JPY 10,25,200 (INR 7.30 lakh). At present, Yamaha has no immediate plans to launch the Bolt cruiser in the Indian markets.
