Yamaha is likely to introduce the updated version of the MT-15 in India very soon. The manufacturer is anticipated to load the new model with a couple of eminent features, and one of them is the addition of a Bluetooth connectivity-enabled instrument console. Apart from that, there will be the inclusion of upside-down forks as well, which is already offered on the R15 V4 motorcycle. On the existing MT-15 bike, a telescopic suspension setup is being used.
However, the precise date of the debut has not been announced by Yamaha, but it is expected to be made in a few days. The ex-showroom price of the current model goes up to Rs 1.50 lakh for the Monster Energy Edition, and after the integration of important features, it is likely to come with revised prices in the country.
To jog your memory, Yamaha launched the BS6-compliant model of MT-15 back in February 2020. If we talk about the major changes, the BS6-compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine is good for a maximum power of 18.5HP @ 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 13.9Nm @ 8,500 rpm. Both the power and torque figures of the BS6 engine are 0.8HP and 0.8Nm down respectively when compared to the 19.3HP of power and 14.7Nm of torque offered by the BS4 version. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed transmission.
