The much-awaited Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R was officially launched in Indonesia in 2020 with a starting on-road price tag of IDR 96,000,000 (INR 4.98 lakh, approximate). According to one of the recent reports, it is being rumoured that Yamaha is also working on a 4-cylinder 250cc supersport motorcycle which would most probably be christened as R25M.
The upcoming Yamaha YZF-R25M would be a direct and the very first rival to the Ninja ZX-25R and it is expected to generate class-leading power and torque figures. As per the details available, Honda is also working on a 4-cylinder 250cc sportbike and it would be launched as CBR250RR-R in 2022.
For your reference, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R is powered by a 249.8cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder, DOHC, 16-valve engine which is good for 51 HP of maximum power at 15,500 rpm along with 22.9 Nm of peak torque at 14,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
There aren’t many details available regarding the technical specifications of the Yamaha R25M. What we know at this point in time is that it would be powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 4-cylinder engine.
