India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has recently shed light on their upcoming product plan at an official press conference. The brand has revealed certain details on the launch of BS6 Yamaha Motorcycles and their plans for launching more products in the premium motorcycle segment.
Since the new emission norms will be effective from April 1, 2020, the brand will be starting launching their BS6 motorcycles from November 2019 onwards. In addition to this, the company will keep on focusing on launching their premium products while at the same time plans on offering environment-friendly mobility solutions to the Indian audience.
Since the BS6 Yamaha motorcycles will be launching from November, the brand plans to initiate the process in phases. Yamaha will be launching the BS6-compliant engines for their affordable range of motorcycles first while the costlier motorcycles will follow shortly after that.
The implementation of the new emission norms will make the motorcycle manufacturer hike the prices of all their products in the portfolio. According to the brand, the hike might range from 10% to 15% on average.
One can expect the BS6 model of the Yamaha R15 V3 to get an updated price tag of around INR 1.60 lakh while the Yamaha FZ may get a price tag ranging up to INR 1.11 lakh. The BS6-compliant models of MT-15 and FZ25 are expected to be priced at around INR 1.55 lakh and INR 1.52 lakh respectively. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom (expected).
