Indonesian blog Macantua truly made the day of Yamaha fans, leaking the spyshots of a motorcycle which has 100 percent potential of being the new Yamaha R15 version 3.0. Spotted at a dealership in Indonesia, the motorcycle is parked alongside the current generation of Yamaha R15. The surprise feel even special when we closely look at its front fascia, much inspired from none other than the elder Yamaha R3 itself. However, it has its clean own identity, the R3 style nose and extended headlight is the best thing ever spotted on Yamaha R15.
Is this the production ready Yamaha R15 Version 3.0?
The headlights still uses the halogen bulbs for their purpose while the position lights are stretched towards the upper outer ends. The boomerang style curve of the headlight seen from the side view is all new on a Yamaha R series motorcycle. If it would not have been there, R15 would just have stayed the same as R3, with a smaller face. The fuel tank, side fairing and the currently visible lower section stays the same as current generation R15. There is a possibility that it may be a mod job by some Indonesian artist but parking it alongside the R15 in a dealership would not have the right choice by the owner in this case.
If this is the Yamaha R15 version 3.0, it will soon launch officially in Indonesia, thereby allowing Yamaha India to make the necessary changes in their production line for the new motorcycle. The rear end is still a mystery, leaving fans in a state of confusion that will Yamaha follow the version 1.0’s or the 2.0’s rear design. An official event from Yamaha is still awaited.
