Knight Auto Customizer recently wrapped a Yamaha YZF-R3 in Matte Grey and used attractive decals for exclusive highlights. Yamaha’s aerodynamic design gets further highlighted with the selection of Matte Grey as the base shade. The motorcycle looks more mature in this livery, resembling a bit to the international-spec shades from Yamaha itself. Knight Auto Customizer has finished the windscreen of the Matte Grey Yamaha R3 in carbon fibre.
The Yamaha logo on the fuel tank is finished in Black while the side fairing gets Fiat, Motul, Yamaha, Speed House, Yamalube, Monster, Akrapovic, and Pirelli decals. The use of shiny decals highlights the perfectly flowing fairing of the motorcycle. Knight Auto Customizer has even highlighted the section between both the seats in carbon fibre.
Yamaha R3 was pulled off from the official website in 2017 as it was brought to India as a CKD unit and was compliant with BS3 emission norms only. Yamaha relaunched the R3 in India with a BS4 engine at the Auto Expo in February 2018 for INR 3.48 lakhs (ex-showroom). It was available with 2-channel ABS and Metzeler tyres as standard.
After the implementation of BS6 emission norms, Yamaha has discontinued the R3 in India again. Before being discontinued, the sports bike was available for INR 3.52 lakhs (ex-showroom India). It is expected that Yamaha will launch the 2021 BS6 model of the YZF-R3 in India in early 2021.
Yamaha R3 is powered by a 321cc, twin-cylinder engine producing 42HP of maximum power at 10,750 rpm and 29.6Nm of torque at 9000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and claims a top speed of 188 kmph (approximate). The updated model is equipped with USD (Upside Down) front telescopic forks and an all-digital instrument console.
