Yamaha recently launched the much-awaited R15 Version 4.0 in the Indian markets with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.68 lakhs for the base variant. One of the popular YouTube channels, K2K Motovlogs, recently posted a detailed walkaround video of the Yamaha R15 V4 Racing Blue explaining the key technical specifications of the motorcycles. The R15 V4 is available in three colour options: Metallic Red, Dark Knight, and Racing Blue. On the other hand, the R15M is available in India in two colours: Metallic Grey and MotoGP Monster Energy Edition. Here is the detailed walkaround video of the Racing Blue R15 Version 4.0:
If we talk about the looks, unlike the R15 V3’s dual-LED headlamp layout, the latest-gen R15 V4 series has a single-pod LED headlamp with integrated LED DRLs, as we have seen on the new model of Yamaha R7. However, the most significant change in the next-gen model is the addition of upside-down (USD) front forks, which have replaced the conventional telescopic forks.
In addition to that, some of the other key features of the R15 V4 Racing Blue colour include likes of a Quickshifter, Traction Control System (TCS), Slipper and Assist Clutch (ASC), and a dual-channel ABS unit.
Mechanically, the sports bike is powered by the same BS6-compliant 155.1cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine, which now generates 18.4HP of maximum power at 10,000 rpm along 14.2Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
