Yamaha India is back with a strange fix for the R15 Version 3 tank panel problem that many buyers are facing in India. As you would have gone through the last post where we described the situation of owners with this problem, Yamaha has officially announced a method to solve this hassle with ease. They will take a battery drain pipe and cut the same into 14 small pieces measuring 12mm each. The same will be given a cut through the middle and placed on the locks for a firm placement. Unlike the trick that we saw on YouTube with a cardboard, the method is durable and more effective.
The method is being criticized by fans all over the country. The gap between those three panels is not justified and thus, many of them demand a replacement for panels as the right fix. One of the YouTube users has already got the panels replaced free of cost from the nearest Yamaha dealership. The cost mentioned for the piping technique was INR 57.25, leaving most fans stunned the way Yamaha is handling such a problem. It seems like they won’t charge the same from the owners as a method of reimbursement was mentioned under their clarification of the process.
Most buyers are raising questions regarding this step as they claim spending INR 1.50 lakh of on-road price on a motorcycle and getting this sort of reaction is not acceptable. The video shared by a user on YouTube also claims that future Yamaha owners will not be facing any problem with their fuel tank as the company has eradicated the issue from its assembly line. Yamaha R15 V3 is priced at INR 1.27 lakh, ex-showroom and comes with state of art 155.1cc engine, producing 19.3 hp and 15 Nm of torque. The bike is available in two shades, Thunder Grey and Racing Blue.
