Saigon Maxspeed recently worked on a YZF-R15 Version 3.0 and transformed it into a MotoGP-spec motorcycle with improved performance parts. The first and most important addition is the bubble visor, improving the tuck-in area for the rider and resulting in a more aerodynamic experience for both professionals and amateur riders.
The aftermarket brake and clutch levers are adjustable while the aerodynamic winglets further improve the stability at high speeds. The custom-made motorcycle is equipped with an Akrapovic exhaust system that further helps the rider in achieving higher performance out of the 155cc liquid-cooled engine. This typical Yamaha R15 V3 also features a set of additional wind deflectors around the headlight section.
The customizers have removed the rearview mirrors while the bar-end protectors have been installed to keep the rider safe at all times. The rear fender assembly of the stock model has been replaced with a custom tyre hugger and a floating number plate. The fuel tank of this custom R15 V3 is equipped with rugged knee pads that offer more grip at the time of cornering. The model you see here is not India-specific and thus, it features USD front forks as standard.
The stock model of the R15 V3 is powered by a 155.1cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that is good for a maximum power of 18.6HP @ 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.1Nm @ 8,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. Yamaha offers USD telescopic front forks and aluminium rear footpeg holders on the international-spec model of the motorcycle while the Indian version is available with different footpeg holders and standard front forks.
