Yamaha Motor Private Ltd has contracted its current line-up by withdrawing the FZ1, the 113cc Ray scooter, the carburetted FZ-S, the 150cc semi-faired Fazer from the Indian market.
Though Yamaha has made no official statement yet, the motor-vehicles have been removed from their official website. The Ray scooter’s more modern successor – The Ray Z is already on sale.
An improved Ray ZR was also unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016. It is expected to launch soon. A part of Ray’s expiry is also attributed to the premium looking Fascino, widely popular among the masses.
Similarly, the Fazer FI V2.0 and the new FZ-S V2.0 are fairing pretty well in the market so the company must have decided to retire their aging slow-selling siblings.
