Fazer 250 ABS Launched in Brazil

Yamaha recently launched the Fazer 250 ABS in Brazil for BRL 14,900 (Approx. INR 2.95 lakh, after conversion). The model is based on India spec Yamaha FZ and carries 2-channel ABS as an addition over the regular model.

Brazilian spec engine is slightly more powerful (21.6 BHP, 20.6 Nm) than the Indian version, most probably because of the fuel grade variation between both the countries. The motorcycle seen here carries different paint schemes from the Indian version. Yamaha first brought the 250cc oil cooled motor from Brazil and localized the same in India under this new design.

When they felt that the plan was successful for this segment, introduction of the the same model in Brazil as Fazer 250 was another great step from the manufacturer. Brazilian market already had an aged motorcycle with this name and it was easy for them to replace this one with the new design.

Fazer 250 ABS looks even smarter as mandatory accessories of India like saree guard and rear tyre hugger are missing from the international variant. Another fact that made it a great product was its price placement. Yamaha Brazil has priced the model BRL 740 lower than Honda’s quarter liter Twister. Fazer 250 comes with added features over the same.
