Yamaha FZ25 ABS has been launched in India for INR 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom). The most popular motorcycle of its segment, FZ25 is seen with dual channel ABS and gets a price hike of INR 14,000. Along with the FZ25, Fazer 25 ABS has also been launched for INR 1.43 lakh. Both the bikes are similar in terms of performance, with Fazer adding value for money touring parts like the fairing. The price difference between FZ25 and Fazer 25 is still INR 10,000.
Unlike the second generation FZ with just INR 7,000 of difference and twin headlights on the Fazer, the 250cc variant comes with fairing around the single LED headlight. Yamaha has also launched the new FZ V3 ABS for INR 95,000. Both the 150cc FZ options are available with single channel ABS. The FZ25 ABS is powered by a 249cc engine, producing 20.9 HP of maximum power and 20 Nm of torque. The bike weighs just 148 kg and rivals KTM 250 Duke in India.
Fazer 25 is an exclusive product for this segment, offering performance comparable to the INR 1.94 lakh worth CBR250R for just INR 1.43 lakh. Still, the fan following for FZ25 is stronger than the touring version. Yamaha has already updated the entire FZ-series in India, leaving just the R15-S, Fazer 150 and SZ-RR V2 without ABS. The single channel unit can make its way into all three of them or Yamaha could choose to bring dual-channel ABS into the R15-S for exclusivity.
