Yamaha R15 V3 recently got the India Design Mark Award, making it the second R15 variant in the last decade to have this prestigious moment in the Indian market. The most powerful 150cc motorcycle of the country, R15 V3 is equally known for its supersport design lines and fine aerodynamic detailing. The top-spec Darknight variant is priced at INR 1.42 lakh while the standard model costs INR 1.40 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi. Indian Design Council counts various parameters for different bikes before finalizing the winner, and it seems like Yamaha R15 V3 gave them not even a single negative point.
The brand has successfully added dual channel ABS to the model and price hike of INR 12,000 was received for the feature. The 155.1cc, single cylinder engine on the motorcycle is good for 19.3 HP and 14.7 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The most powerful motor is shared with the new MT-15 and output on both the bikes remains the same. The R15 V3 is available in Thunder Grey, Racing Blue, and Matte Black shade. The Indian Design Council is an independent body from the government of India and ‘I Mark’ was started in association with the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.
