Yamaha R15M Sportbike to Launch in India Tomorrow at 11:00 AM

Putting all of the rumours and speculations to rest, Yamaha has officially announced that they are all set to launch a new R-series product in India tomorrow at 11:00 AM (September 21, 2021). The Japanese two-wheeler brand has not revealed the name of the upcoming bike though we know that it is the much-awaited R15M, which is basically the premium version of the R15 V3.

In comparison to the existing model, the M version is equipped with golden USD front forks, an all-new engine fairing, an updated exhaust system, and an updated instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. As per the details available, the upcoming sports bike will be available in two dual-tone shades and there will also be a version with Monster Energy livery.

As one can see in the leaked photos, Yamaha R15M retains a similar rear-end styling when compared to the R15 V3. The sportbike continues to feature a similar tail-light, rear turn indicators, tyre hugger, and winglets. The front-end styling is also clearly visible in the spy photos and it is inspired heavily by the new model of the Yamaha R7 sports bike. The upcoming model of R15 features a huge projector headlight with eyebrows look-alike LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights).

At present, no concrete details are available regarding the engine of the Yamaha R15M. According to some of the recent media reports, Yamaha is expected to continue with the same 155.1cc engine with similar power and torque figures. For your reference, the present-gen model’s liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine is good enough to produce 18.6HP of maximum power along with 14.1Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

In terms of pricing, the Yamaha R15M sports bike is expected to get a price hike of around INR 10,000. At present, the R15 V3 is available in the Indian markets with a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.58 lakhs.
