Yamaha R3 and R15S witnessed a price hike of INR 1000 in their ex-showroom tags. The former is now available for INR 3.49 lakh, while the YZF-R15S is now placed at INR 1,16,746. Apart from these two, Yamaha had already raised the ex-showroom price for R15 V3 by INR 2000 from its launch price. Yamaha R3 is available in Magma Black and Racing Blue shade while R15-S can be bought in Adrenalin Red, Track White, and Spark Green. On the other hand, shades for Yamaha R15 V3 are limited to MotoGP Edition, Thunder Grey and Racing Blue. Yamaha has already discontinued the much-loved R15 V2 from India.
Before the launch of locally assembled Kawasaki Ninja 300 at INR 2.98 lakh, Yamaha R3 was the most value for money option if buyers considered twin-cylinder sportbike in India. On the other hand, Yamaha R15-S is the only available descendant of the first-generation R15, flaunting practical seating with equally usable grab rails and foot-peg position. It uses a refined 149cc engine, producing 17HP of maximum power and 15NM of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Yamaha R3 comes with a 321cc engine, producing 42HP of mouth-watering power at 10,750 rpm and 29.6Nm of torque at 9000 rpm.
