Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally Edition Launched @ INR 57,898

Yamaha showcased the decked up version of the Ray ZR at the Auto Expo earlier this year and named it the Ray ZR Street Rally version. The Japanese company has launched the scooter today in India. The Street Rally edition is entirely based on the standard Ray ZR apart from a wide variety of the visual and cosmetic upgrades that are seen on the Street Rally version.

Ray ZR Rally Edition is available in two colors, Rally Red and Racing Blue. Some of the visual upgrades include a black under-paint scheme and racy decals that add character to the Street Rally Ray ZR. Along with this, there are also colour-coordinated six-spoke alloy wheels on the scooter.

This is quite similar to the design that we saw at the Auto Expo this year. The colour scheme on the scooter is dual-toned and there is a fully digital instrument console. The winglets on the headlamp apron is more of a bling rather than serving any real purpose. At the Auto Expo, we also saw some quirky gold bits on the wheels but they were most likely just custom-made for the show.

Rather than being an entirely new scooter, the Street Rally is a new variant in the lineup. It is powered by the same 113 cc single-cylinder air-cooled Blue-Core engine that has a maximum power of 7.2 hp and a peak torque of 8 Nm. This engine is paired to a CVT unit. There is a 170mm disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks on the front and a monoshock at the rear.

The Street Rally has been priced at INR 57,898 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is INR 2000 higher in comparison to the standard model of the Ray ZR 110. With this price tag, the Street Rally will compete against the Honda Dio.
