Yamaha RX100 Gunmetal Grey Variant Photos and Video

The legendary Yamaha RX 100 can still be seen running around the town with its unique exhaust note. The immense popularity attached to this bike forced Yamaha to bring back the RX moniker with the launch of the Saluto RX 110, though it never witnessed a respectable sales number.

This typical Yamaha RX 100 features a completely restored body and certain aftermarket additions for added practicality and head-turning looks. According to the modifier, the approximate cost of this customization is Rs 55,000 (excluding the donor bike). The RX100 Gunmetal Grey Edition has been modified by ‘Durga Spray Painting Works’ for a client in Khammam, Telangana.

Yamaha RX 100 Gunmetal Grey Edition is equipped with dual projector bulbs with a round LED DRL tube enclosed in a matte black headlight casing. The modified motorcycle features chrome/black alloy wheels, an impressive belly pan, and a raised design for remarkable looks.

The fuel tank flaunts Gunmetal Grey colour with black pinstripes and Yamaha branding while the side panels carry the RX 100 branding over the same shade. An all-new seat with perfect space for two riders has been installed on the motorcycle. Most of the moving parts of the engine were retained from the original model and no front disc brake has been added to keep the originality intact.

Yamaha RX 100 is powered by a 98cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine producing a maximum power of 11BHP at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.4Nm @ 6500 rpm. This makes the power-to-weight ratio of RX 100 comparable to the performance spec-150cc bikes available in India. The engine of the bike is mated to a 4-speed gearbox.

The company-claimed top speed of the RX 100 stands at 100kmph. The motorcycle was built during 1985-1996, coming to a sudden end with the government bringing strict emission laws putting a ban on the sale of two-stroke bikes in India.
