Carrying forward the legacy of the legendary RX100 and matching them to the modern Saluto dynamics, Yamaha India has launched a new entry level commuter named Saluto RX in India for a price tag of INR 46,400 (ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle has been provided with a lightweight chassis for better fuel efficiency, claimed to be 82 kmpl for the Saluto RX.
The motorcycle is powered by an all new 110cc, 2-valve, 4-stroke engine producing 7.39 BHP and 8.5 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox and weighs just 98 kg. This low weight value comes after all the fluids and a full fuel tank is counted for the motorcycle. This provides a good amount of acceleration to the bike as the torque is achieved at a value as low as 4500 rpm. The front uses telescopic forks while the rear uses a twin coil spring suspension.
The front tyre measures 2.75-17 while the rear is 3.00-17, kept tube type for cost cutting on the bike. The front and rear drum brakes are 130 mm, while the overall body shape is inspired by the Saluto’s body. The motorcycle will be made available in 4 shades namely Matte Black, Breezy Blue, Inspiring Red and Gleaming Black.
