Meet Yamaha Vixion R: The Naked Version of R15 V3

2018 Yamaha Vixion R was recently launched in Indonesia for IDR 29.25 million (Approx. INR 1.41 Lakh). Indian fans are not familiar with this name as Yamaha just retails the FZ series in street fighter segment here.

Vixion street bike was launched earlier with the same engine as India spec Yamaha R15 V2 while Vixion R made a recent entry with much more lucrative specifications on offer. It comes based on the popular all-new R15 Version 3, carrying the same 155.1cc, single cylinder VVA supporting engine that is good for 19.04 BHP at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm.

Meet Yamaha Vixion R: The Naked Version of R15 V3

To the biggest surprise, this engine is one great option when considering high end impressive performance in the 150-160cc segment. Also, 2018 Yamaha Vixion R claims to be the most powerful motorcycle of this segment.

Few other similarities between R15 V3 and Vixion R includes the exhaust system, Deltabox frame, 6-speed gearbox, variable valve actuation, slipper clutch and its instrument console. The new motorcycle measures 1950 mm in length, 720 mm in width and 1025 mm in height. It gets 165 mm of ample ground clearance and 795 mm of seat height.

As R15 V3 is priced at IDR 35,200,000 (Approx. INR 1.70 Lakh), Yamaha has used few cost cutting exercises on 2018 Vixion. It comes with conventional front forks instead of premium USD units, single LED headlamp, flat long seat, smaller wheels and least amount of body fairing.

Still, 2018 Vixion R weighs just 131 kg and thus, will perform the same way as Yamaha R15 V3 in terms of acceleration. As of now, Yamaha has no plans to launch the Vixion R in India, but they might consider it for the Indian market next year.
