The bookings for the next-gen Audi A8L have been officially commenced by the brand across its major dealerships in India. The brand will be launching the long-wheelbase model of the A8 sedan in India that will compete with the likes of Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the BMW 7 Series.
According to the recent reports, the brand has already grabbed multiple bookings for their upcoming A8L in India. Initially unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show in July 2017, the Audi A8L has been seen testing quite a few times on the Indian roads.
The fourth-generation Audi A8 comes with a sporty exterior design though getting all the premium features that one can expect from a car of its class. The sedan features a single chrome grille at the front while the flat roof dome adds to its bold design. The Audi A8 gets premium HD Matrix LED headlights while the taillight setup comes with OLED technology. The upright nose profile compliments its inclined rear end.
Coming to the interiors, the brand will be equipping the next-gen Audi A8 with a virtual cockpit as standard. In addition to this, Audi is all set to launch the fourth edition A8 with a new infotainment system. The functionality has been further improved by replacing all the control buttons with two screens at the centre. The brand has even equipped the sedan with a foot massager system for the rear passengers while the front seats can be flexibly adjusted according to the demand.
The Audi A8L will be made available in the Indian market in three variants namely: 3.0-litre V6 petrol, 3.0-litre V6 diesel as well as the mighty 4.0-litre V8 engine. Powering the V6 petrol model of the A8L is a 2,995cc twin-scroll turbo engine capable of churning a maximum power of 340HP and 500Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the A8L diesel variant will be powered by 2,967cc, turbocharged V6 engine, good for offering a maximum power of 286HP and 600Nm of torque. All the three A8L variants are mated to 8-speed Tiptronic torque converter automatic transmission.
