Honda Accord Hybrid Price Hiked in India: Honda launched the 9th generation Accord in India for INR 37 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in October 2016. After just 14 months and due to uneven placement of hybrid cars, it is now placed at INR 43.21 lakh (Post-GST price).
The increase is quite shocking as buyers now have a long list of fully equipped German as well as British sedans for this price tag. All this happened when hybrid cars were moved into regular tax brackets by the government.
2018 Honda Accord falls in the category of BMW 3 series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4 but comes with a wheelbase similar to 5-Series and A6. The exterior of Honda Accord is completely different as it uses LED headlights and taillights, 18 inch diamond cut wheels, Blue accent running throughout the car’s front fascia and even sharper cuts throughout the body.
It uses a 2.0 L, 145 PS petrol motor which comes paired to 2 electric motors, combining which the total power output comes out to be 215 PS. The hybrid system works in 3 ways namely Engine Drive, Hybrid Drive and EV mode. Since the EV mode sounds very interesting, it actual practicality is limited to just 2 kilometers. Honda claims a mileage of 23.1 kmpl for their flagship Accord Hybrid.
The interior of the car features premium Ivory leather, wooden finish on the steering wheel and dashboard, Piano Black finish on the center console and power adjustable driver and passenger seat. It even provides 2 position memory to the driver seat. The interior even features foot-well lighting, cruise control on steering wheel and anti pinch power windows.
It comes with Active Noise cancellation, dual zone climate control, remote start with pre-cool or pre-heat option, sunroof and even frequency selective dampers. Safety features on the car include ABS, front airbags, side and curtain airbags, traction and stability control and even lane watch assist, helping cover the blind spots on the car. Honda Accord Hybrid rivals none other than Camry Hybrid (INR 37.22 lakh) in India.
