Hyundai Alcazar (7-Seater Creta) Revealed; To Rival Tata Safari

Hyundai has today officially revealed the much-anticipated Alcazar, which is basically the 7-seater version of the Creta SUV. As per the details available, the brand would be launching Alcazar in India next month and it is expected to get an ex-showroom price range of around INR 11-19 lakhs. In comparison to Creta, Hyundai has increased the wheelbase of the new SUV by 150mm, and it now stands at 2,760mm. Talking about the rest of the dimensions, Hyundai Alcazar measures 4,330mm in length, 1,790mm in width, while the fuel tank capacity stands at 50 litres.

Coming to the technical specifications, Hyundai Alcazar will be available with two engine options: a 2.0L petrol engine (from Elantra) and a 1.5L diesel engine (from Creta). The petrol engine is good for a maximum power of 159HP and a peak torque of 192Nm, while the diesel engine is good for 115HP and 250Nm. Both the engine options would be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Talking about the looks, the brand has equipped the Alcazar 7-seater SUV with a different front grille, a slightly updated headlight section, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, more upright roofline and tailgate, a new front bumper, and an all-new rear end section to differentiate the car from the current-gen Hyundai Creta, which is a 5-seater SUV. In addition to this, the floating roof design in the Alcazar also remains similar when compared to the Creta.

Some of the key features of Hyundai Alcazar include the likes of AC vents with speed control, a two-tone interior, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, BlueLink based in-car connectivity, powered driver and co-passenger seats, steering wheel-mounted controls, cruise control, an automatic climate control system, cooled glovebox, a panoramic sunroof, an engine start/stop button, a large MID, a wireless phone charger, 6 airbags, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Electric Parking Brake (EPB).

When launched, the 7-seater SUV would be competing with the likes of Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, and the MG Hector Plus. Here is the official sketch of the New Hyundai Alcazar’s interior:
