7-Seater Kia Sonet Officially Revealed in Indonesia: After remaining in the news multiple times last week, Kia has finally unveiled the 7-seater model of the Sonet compact SUV, which has been specifically developed for the Indonesian markets. At present, Kia has not announced anything officially regarding the launch of the 7-seater Sonet in India though, one can expect the brand to launch the car in our country in the coming years.
Talking about the looks, the 7-seater version is exactly the same as the 5-seater version of Kia Sonet that we have on sale in the Indian markets. The only difference is that the 7-seater model is slightly longer to accommodate the third row of seats. The 7-seater Kia Sonet measures 4,120mm in length, 1,790mm in width, 1,642mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm.
Coming to the interiors. the third row of seats has a very less amount of space and is the best for kids. As you see in the image above, the last row of seats can be accessed by folding the second row which has a 60:40 split. The rearmost seats take up all of the boot space though one can fold the seats to make space for the luggage.
Like the 5-seater version, the 7-seater version is also equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The compact SUV has a wireless smartphone charging system, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, UVO connect features, ambient lighting, and a 7-speaker Bose audio system.
In terms of technical specifications, the 7-seater Kia Sonet is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that is capable enough to generate a maximum power of 115 HP along with a peak torque of 144 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard while the customers can also opt for the brand’s Intelligent Variant Transmission (IVT).
