Isuzu India recently launched the MU-X for INR 23,99,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The car is a strict rival to Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour while shares its underpinning with D-Max V-Cross for more off-road specific attitude. It comes with added luxury and can be safely called as a badge engineered Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Both the brands are sharing most of the components with each other. Isuzu MU-X comes with a single engine and transmission option while its 4×4 drive brings terrain control and shift on fly feature.

Isuzu MU-X comes with a 3.0 liter, diesel motor with VGS turbo, producing 174 BHP at 3600 rpm and 380 Nm at 1800-2800 rpm. The gearbox on offer is a 5-speed automatic unit. ARAI claimed fuel efficiency for the MU-X is 13.8 kmpl while comes out as the least powerful option out of all in the segment.
The 4×2 and 4×4 variant differ by a price of INR 2 lakh. The car comes with features like projector headlights, 17 inch alloy wheels, dual tone Ivory-Grey interior, soft leather panels, 7 inch infotainment system, roof mounted surround sound system, reverse camera, climate control and cruise control.
Isuzu MU-X measures 4825 mm in length, 1860 mm in width and 1825 mm in height. It carries a wheelbase of 2845 mm while an exciting 220 mm of ground clearance makes it a good option for off-roading. It comes with anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, traction control and hill assist for added safety.
The model that is on sale is India is a pre-facelift variant that was sold internationally before March 2017. The new version is also expected to make its way into the Indian market in the coming months.
