Jeep Renegade Trailhawk was recently updated with all new features that became official for the first time through Renegade facelift worldwide. Apart from cosmetic updates, the Trailhawk variant comes with Selec-Terrain system that offers Rock option along with already existing Sand, Snow and Mud function.
All wheels are offered with 205mm of travel and 210mm ground clearance. They are sharing the alloy wheels with the Limited trim of standard Renegade while dual tone bonnet is specific to Trailhawk variant of all Jeep SUVs. The use of exclusive bumpers and better suspension on this variant guarantees better approach angle and lowers scope of under-body damage.
Jeep Renegade is now internationally available with four engine options and six total output options. Trailhawk variant is available with a powerful 2.0L diesel engine producing 170HP of maximum power. The engine offers 9-speed automatic gearbox and claims full time all wheel drive layout.
Other engines available on Jeep Renegade are 120HP 1.0L petrol, 150HP 1.3L petrol, 180HP 1.3L petrol, 120HP 1.6L diesel and 140HP 2.0L diesel. Gearbox options include 6-speed manual, 7-speed dual clutch automatic and 9-speed automatic on different variants. If Jeep plans to bring Renegade in India, Trailhawk will act as the flagship variant.
Even after being the smallest product in Jeep lineup, Renegade comes with impressive off-road friendly components and loads of power. The premium interior remains class-leading for a product of this size and bringing it to India requires a slight change in dimensions along with local production.
It can be placed as an impressive Creta rival in its present form but almost negligible downsizing can alloy them to achieve sub 4m taxation bracket. This could almost cut the pricing of Renegade by INR 1 lakh from the top spec variant, that too by keeping luxury in mind.
