Kia Seltos, the debutant SUV from the brand has been recently launched in India at a starting price tag of INR 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom). In addition to this, the long-wheelbase version of the Seltos SUV has been unveiled in China at the Chengdu Motor Show. Christened as Kia KX3 SP2c, the highly-anticipated SUV from the brand resembles pretty much to the India-spec Seltos though, the SP2c is a bit larger in terms of dimensions.
The Kia KX3 SP2c is 30mm longer and 30mm taller when compared to the India-spec Kia Seltos while at the same time, the SUV has been offered a longer wheelbase by 20mm. The addition to the length will allow more legroom to the second-row passengers.
It is one of the most notable traits preferred in the Chinese market that is bound to offer a competitive edge to the Kia KX3 SP2c. The brand might also introduce the SUV with a seven-seater variant though, no further details of the seven-seat version have been revealed yet.
The panoramic sunroof and adaptable cruise control set the Kia KX3 SP2c apart from its Indian sibling Seltos that features a standard sunroof and cruise control. In addition to this, the China-spec variant of the SUV gets extra cladding on the edges while the rear skid plate features a stop lamp.
Since the brand has given the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine a miss for the Kia KX3 SP2c, the Chinese market will not offer the GT lineup of the SUV. In addition to this, the SUV is only available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that is capable of offering a maximum power of 115 HP. There will be no diesel engine variants of the SUV available in China. Considering the excellent response from the Indian audience for the Kia Seltos, the Kia KX3 SP2c is likely to get a major fan following in the Chinese market.
