Kia Seltos Off-Road Concept Models Officially Revealed

The North American-Spec Kia Seltos has been officially unveiled by the brand in the US at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2019. The brand has introduced the 2020 Kia Seltos variant at the Auto Show which is more or less similar to the India-spec variant. In addition to the unveiling of the Kia Setos, two new off-road concept models based on the SUV have also been introduced by the brand at the LA Auto Show.

The brand has showcased the Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept and the Seltos X-Line Urban Concept at the Auto Show which specifically depicts the customization options available for the SUV and how it will look as on off-road SUV.

Coming to the X-Line Trail Attack Concept, the brand has equipped the SUV with a new suspension setup that further offers it a 2-inch lift allowing the ground clearance to now stands at 235mm.

The brand has offered the SUV with a central differential lock while offering an AWD system. The use of 17-inch custom alloy wheels in addition to other off-road accessories like multiple auxiliary lights at the roof as well as front adds to its overall odd-road SUV looks.

The Kia Seltos X-Line Urban Concept has been equipped with the same 17-inch custom alloy wheels in addition to getting a custom suspension setup which offers a 2-inch lift to the SUV. The brand has offered the SUV with a gold-finished shade besides offering an AWD drive system. The Urban concept has slight differences in comparison to the Trail concept as the brand has equipped it with a lesser number of auxiliary lights and same interiors as that of the production-spec Kia Seltos.

The North American-Spec Kia Seltos has also been offered an additional Kia’s DriveWise safety package. The new safety package allows the rider to monitor the blind spots, avoid collisions at the blind spots and it also includes driver attention warning system, and lane-keep assist system in addition to offering automatic emergency braking, safe exit assist and more. The Kia Seltos in the US will be available in 5 trims namely: LX, EX, S2.0L, S1.6T, and SX while gets different engine options as that offered in India-spec variant.

The customers will be able to avail the SUV with two engine options: a 2.0-litre petrol engine that is good for 146HP of maximum power and a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that offers a maximum power of 175HP. The former will come mated to CVT unit while the latter will feature a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Both the engine variants can be availed with FWD as well as AWD option. The 2020 Kia Seltos will be available in the US in 2020 while getting a starting price tag of $22,000 (INR 15.78 lakh, approx) for the base variant.
