Kia Seltos Technical Specifications Revealed: The recently unveiled Kia Seltos was able to attract a large number of audience at the official unveil and everyone wanted to know about its technical specifications. As per a recent report, the dimensions and engine details for the car have been revealed by Autocar India. The upcoming SUV measures 4315mm in length, 1800mm in width, and 1620mm in height.
If we take a look at the SUV, it is longer and wider than the Hyundai Creta in terms of dimensions but in terms of height, Creta has an edge over Seltos. Talking about the wheelbase, at 2610mm Kia’s SUV has a longer wheelbase than the Creta though, the ground clearance of the Seltos is rated the same as Creta at 190mm. Kia Seltos has a 433-litre boot which is slightly larger than that of Hyundai Creta.
The basic variant of the Seltos will ride on 16-inch wheels which will be wrapped in 205/65-section tyres, while its top-spec model gets 17-inch alloy wheels shod in 215/60-section tyres. Mechanically, the SUV will be offered with three engine options, a 1.5-litre Smart Stream petrol engine capable of producing 115 HP of max power and 144 Nm of peak torque, a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine churning out 115 HP and 250 Nm, and a 1.4-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine which generates 140 HP of maximum power along with 242 Nm of peak torque. All the engine options are BSVI compliant and are available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
The launch event for Kia Seltos is set to take place in late August while the bookings for the SUV are expected to open in mid-July. Most of the Kia dealerships are in final stages of completion and a few dealerships have already begun accepting bookings for the Seltos on an unofficial basis. According to a report, some of the dealerships in New Delhi are taking a token amount of INR 25,000 for accepting the bookings unofficially.
