According to our esteemed sources, the upcoming Kia Carnival premium MPV has started reaching the dealerships ahead of its official launch. The India-spec debutant MPV from the brand is expected to be revealed to the customers next month at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. The exclusive live photos of the Kia Carnival will give the prospective customers a clear view of what to expect from the MPV in terms of the exterior, interior and other mechanical bits.
Powering the Kia Carnival premium MPV will be a BS6-compliant, 2.2-litre diesel engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 200HP at 3,800rpm and a peak torque of 440Nm at 1,500-2,750rpm. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The reports also suggest that the engine equipped on the Carnival will be the most powerful engine offered to any MPV till date.
The brand will be offering the Carnival MPV in three trims namely Premium, Prestige and Limousine which will be further available in three seating layouts. The seven-seater configuration of the MPV will feature captain seats in the middle or an optional ‘Luxury VIP’ seats while the eight-seater configuration will feature a four captain seat setup. Similarly, the nine-seater configuration of the MPV will get six captain seats and a four-row layout.
Coming to the features, the base premium trim of the Carnival premium MPV will be available in a seven or eight-seat layout while featuring a touchscreen infotainment unit compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition to this, the MPV will be equipped with a standard safety package which will include the likes of automatic headlights, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD and more.
The Prestige trim of the MPV will be available to the customers in a 9-seat or 7-seat version while getting a host of additional features such as LED position lamps, tail lamps as well as fog lamps. The second trim will feature dual-panel electric sunroof in addition to getting a 220V laptop charger and more.
The top-spec Limousine trim of the Kia Carnival premium MPV will come equipped with all premium features in a seven-seat version which will further get VIP seats with Nappa leather upholstery, UVO connected car technology, an automatic anti-glare IRVM, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), 8 Harman speakers for surround sound and more.
There has been no information on the exact price tags of the upcoming MPV though one can expect the brand to price it between INR 24 lakh to INR 28 lakh (ex-showroom).
