Mahindra To Unleash Five New Electric SUVs In India on August 15

Mahindra has teased us with their Born Electric SUV lineup on numerous occasions. The most recent teaser we’ve seen is for the company’s upcoming XUV900 Electric coupe SUV. It demonstrates how the product will differ from what they have previously done with EVs.

Mahindra, as a conglomerate, has gone on to develop the Battista, a 1900 bhp electric supercar, through their subsidiary Pininfarina. Born Electric SUVs are, as the name implies, electric vehicles from the ground up. Until now, Mahindra’s teaser revealed that the Born Electric range would include three electric SUVs.

However, the latest teaser confirms the existence of five electric SUVs. All of them will make their global debuts on the same day. These five electric SUVs are among the seven planned for Mahindra’s Born Electric series. All of these vehicles are expected to be designed by Pratap Bose’s Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE).

All Born Electric SUVs will have ‘C’ shaped LED DRLs in the front, giving them a distinct look, according to an earlier teaser. From the back, they get eye-catching LED light bars that span the width of the SUVs. The most recent teaser depicts their physique from the side.

Mahindra Electric, a subsidiary of Mahindra, produced electric vehicles such as the e2O and e2O Plus. However, Mahindra has established a new EV subsidiary company in order to focus solely on their ICE vehicles and EV portfolio. To begin, this new company will produce four new electric vehicles for global markets.

British International Investment has invested Rs 1925 crore in the Indian conglomerate (BII). This new company will solely focus on four-wheeled passenger electric vehicles.

Mahindra XUV400 Electric has been spotted in testing and is set to go on sale in September 2022. Even though EV technology is still in its infancy in India, electric four-wheelers sell more than 2,000 units per month, as shown in our EV sales chart. It is a good opportunity for manufacturers to venturing into the EV space, and it is expected to grow rapidly.
