Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the very popular compact sedan from the brand has been updated with a new set of safety features that cater to the safety norms effective from July 1, 2019. In addition to this, the brand has also launched the Suzuki Dzire petrol with a BS6-compliant engine.
The sedan will now be available at a starting price tag of INR 5.83 Lakhs (ex-showroom) while the range goes all the way up to INR 9.58 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-spec variant. The new safety updated has resulted in an increased price tag of INR 3000 for the diesel engine while the petrol engines cost INR 13,000 more.
According to the reports, the brand has acted well by introducing the BS6-compliant petrol engine since the new emission norms will be effective in India from April 1, 2020. Apart from the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the brand has also updated the petrol engines for Baleno, Wagon R, 2019 Alto and Swift to be compliant with BS6 norms. As per the recent news, the brand will be discontinuing all its diesel engine cars altogether by March 2020, ruling out the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that is currently available in the country.
The new safety features equipped on the Maruti Suzuki Dzire are a speed system alert, seat belt reminders for the front seats, rear parking sensors, central locking, ABS with EBD as standard. All the updated safety features are standard in line with the “AIS-145 Safety Norms”.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is one of the compact sedans from the brand that is always featured on the list of top five best selling automobiles from the brand, known to have sold over 19 lakhs unit since its introduction in 2008. According to the reports, all the cars in the country will have to comply with the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP) norms which will be in effect from October 1, 2019.
