Maruti Suzuki recently launched the much-awaited 2022 version of the Ertiga in the Indian market with a starting price tag of Rs 8.35 lakhs (ex-showroom). The manual version of the MPV is available in five variants – LXi, Tour M, VXi, ZXi, and the top-sped ZXi+.
On the other hand, the New Ertiga 6-speed automatic is available in three variants, namely VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. Maruti Suzuki has also launched the new model of Ertiga with a factory-fitted CNG kit and it is also available in three variants – Tour M, VXi, and ZXi. The MY2022 Maruti Ertiga gets new aesthetic changes on the exterior, a radiator grille with chrome inserts and new dual-tone alloy wheels. On the interior, it comes with a metallic teak-wooden finish on the dashboard and dual-tone fabric on the seats. The updated model is available in 6 colour schemes with the addition of two new shades – Splendid Silver and Dignity Brown.
Coming to the interior, Maruti Suzuki has equipped the MPV with air-cooled bottle holders, a front-row armrest with a utility box, and for the rear passengers, there is a roof-mounted AC with manual controls. The new model also features auto headlamps with the follow-me-home feature.
The 2022 model comes installed with a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system, which also features a voice assistant (command through “Hi Suzuki”), over 40 connected car features, and Suzuki Connect skill for Amazon Alexa.
In terms of the technical specifications, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga houses a next-gen 1.5L petrol engine that generates 102 BHP of max power @ 6000 rpm and a max torque of 136.8 Nm @ 4000 rpm. The MPV features a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while the brand is also offering an all-new 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, making the MY2022 Ertiga the first Maruti Suzuki car to get this gearbox option.
The new model of the MPV also comes with a factory-fitted CNG kit under the S-CNG branding. The 1.5L engine running on CNG produces a max power of 87 BHP @ 5500 rpm and a max torque of 121 Nm @ 4200 rpm.
Talking about the safety features, Maruti Suzuki has equipped all of the variants with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX anchorages, SBR (Seatbelt Reminder), and depending on the variants, some of them also feature 4 airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), and Hill Hold Assist function, etc.
