Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the 2022 WagonR in the country with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 5.40 lakh. The WagonR remains the favourite car for families since its arrival. The facelifted model of the car gets some new cosmetic and feature updates to make it more up-to-date and offer buyers a more sophisticated vehicle.
Speaking of the design and style updates in the 2022 Maruti Suzuki WagonR, it comes with the same profile and its signature tallboy design, but there are several visual improvements that have been noted. To begin with the colour scheme, there is the addition of new dual-tone colours called Gallant Red and Magma Grey. These colour schemes include floating roof designs with blacked-out roofs, pillars, and ORVMs.
On the inside as well, there are a few alterations, like the addition of new grey melange fabric, which felicitates the dual-tone interior and exterior of the car. Apart from this, the hatch now comes with a 7-inch Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone navigation, 4 premium sound speakers, steering mounted controls, and auto gear shift technology.
As for passenger safety, the Maruti WagonR comes equipped with dual airbags, hill hold control, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors as standard. In terms of drivetrain, the hatchback is available with two engine options. The new K10C and K12N engines are dual jets with dual VVT with engine idle start/stop technology. Besides, the CNG option has been expanded to include the mid-spec VXi 1.0-litre variant.
The 1.0-litre K10C engine is good for 67 HP and 89 Nm and is more efficient at 25.19 km/l. Meanwhile, the 1.2-litre K12N generates 88.5 BHP and 113 Nm and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 24.43 km/l.
