As expected, Maruti Suzuki has launched the BS6-compliant 1.5-litre S-Cross petrol in the Indian market today with a price tag of INR 8.39 lakhs for the base model while the price range goes all the way up to INR 12.39 lakhs for the top model. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom Delhi. As Maruti Suzuki has stopped selling diesel cars in India, the BS6 model of the S-Cross is now available with only a petrol engine option. Like the 1.5L Vitara Brezza, the BS6 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol is also good for a maximum power of 103 HP at 6000 rpm along with 138 Nm of peak torque at 4400 rpm. The engine is further paired to a 5-speed manual transmission along with an optional 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the petrol-manual variant has an ARAI mileage of 18.55 kmpl, while the automatic model is good for 18.43 kmpl. For your reference, the BS4 diesel-hybrid model was good for 25.1 kmpl.
In terms of design, the BS6-compliant model of the S-Cross stays more or less the same as the BS4 model. Some of the key features of the car include machine-cut alloy wheels (black and chrome), LED tail lights, soft feel dashboard, piano black centre console, black leather central armrest, and a Maruti SmartPlay infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
In terms of safety, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol comes equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, rear parking assist, high-speed warning alert, reverse parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat restraint system.
