Maruti Suzuki India recently posted a teaser on the social media handle of Nexa asking the audience to guess the upcoming adventure SUV. The quick video depicts a desert with the words “Guess Who Was Here” scrawled on it, as well as car tyre marks. Also, the caption is made with the post saying, “This just in. A wild and adventurous ride has been spotted making its way through different terrains! The one question is, what car is this?” Everyone was thinking about the upcoming off-roader, the Jimny but now the company has revealed the truth.
The “SUV For Adventure” has finally been unveiled via NEXA’s social media handle, and it is not the Jimny but the S-Cross. The S-Cross is currently available for purchase through NEXA, and this was merely a social media marketing campaign for it. Speculation about the coming of the Jimny has long loomed, and the fourth generation was released in worldwide markets in 2018. In addition, Maruti Suzuki showcased the three-door Jimny at the 2020 Auto Expo in Greater Noida to evaluate customer interest. Looking at the huge success of Thar, the company may introduce the Adventure Jimny in the next year. However, it is just anticipation.
If Maruti does decide to introduce the 3-door Jimny, anticipate it to be priced a few lakhs lower than the Thar. The Jimny is a small car that comes with all of the essential amenities that you’d expect in a vehicle these days. The Maruti Jimny will be powered by the same engine used in the S-Cross, Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6, and Vitara Brezza. This is a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 105 PS and either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The small SUV is also outfitted with an ALLGRIP 4WD system.
