Maruti XL6, the Ertiga-based premium MPV has been finally launched in the Indian market and it will be retailed via the brand’s NEXA chain of dealerships. The price range for the car starts at INR 9.80 lakh for the base Zeta variant with a manual gearbox and goes up to INR 11.46 lakh for the Alpha variant with an automatic gearbox. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom Delhi.
Mechanically, the Maruti XL6 carries the K15B 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine which works simultaneously with a dual-battery mild-hybrid system. The engine is good enough to produce 105 HP of maximum power at 6000 rpm and 138 Nm of peak torque at 4400 rpm.
The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while the brand is also offering the XL6 with an option of a 4-speed torque-convertor automatic gearbox. The MPV is available in two trims – Zeta and Alpha. The Zeta variant is based on the Ertiga’s Z trim whereas the Alpha model is based on the Ertiga’s Z+ trim.
Talking about the dimensions of the car, the XL6 is 4445mm in length, 1775mm in width and 1700mm in height. The Maruti XL6 is bigger in comparison to the Ertiga. Its length, width and height are about 50mm, 40mm and 10mm more but the wheelbase is still the same at 2740mm. Even the boot space of the XL6 is same as that of Ertiga.
In terms of mileage, the six-seater car returns 19.01 kmpl in petrol-manual form while the petrol-AT model is good for delivering 17.99 kmpl. The mileage figures are quite interesting as they are identical to Ertiga despite that XL6 is 10kg heavier. The boot space for the XL6 is 209 litres, which increases to 550 litres with the third-row folded, and 692 litres with the second and third-row folded.
The Maruti XL6 premium MPV comes with features like captain seats for the middle row, cruise control, a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system, LED fog lamps/headlamps/DRLs, roof rails, and contrast ORVMs as standard. The higher Alpha variant gets additional features such as leather seats, electrically foldable ORVMs, black alloy wheels, auto-headlamps with follow-me-home and lead-me-to-vehicle system. Here is the variant-wise price list of the new Maruti XL6.
