Meet Suzuki Jimny Tough Concept with Komodo Extreme Off-Road Tyres

Suzuki has officially showcased a head-turning concept at the 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The car showcased by the company is known as the Suzuki Jimny Tough concept. The beefier version of the compact SUV gets a whopping 360mm of ground clearance as compared to 210mm of the standard model.

The body of this particular model has been coloured Jungle Green that consists of a scratch-resistant resin that usually comes featured on the loading bed of the pick-up trucks. The paint of the car gets a textured yet flat non-glossy finish that looks utterly menacing.

Coming to the dimensions of the Jimny Tough Concept, the overall length of the SUV is 3900mm, with a width of 1700mm and it has an overall height of 1780mm. The wheelbase of the car is 2250mm.

Mechanically, the SUV comes powered by the K15B petrol engine, which has got a displacement of 1462cc. The engine is good enough to produce 102HP of maximum power at 6000 rpm with 130 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm.

The suspension duties of the car are handled by 3-link rigid axle with coil spring at both front and rear ends. The main attraction point of the car is its large off-road tyres known as Savero Komodo Extreme MT31-R15 GT.

For safety and security purposes, the Jimny Tough Concept comes with brake assist, shift lock key for AT variant, front dual airbags, hill hold control, hill descent control, electronic stability program, side-impact beams, anti-lock braking system, immobilizer and a security alarm. The tough concept of the compact SUV has received major equipment upgrades that make it stand different among its standard variant.

We can expect Maruti Suzuki to bring the Jimny to the Indian market in the near future as a replacement for the discontinued Gypsy. But one thing is for sure that the India-spec model of Jimny would come featured with 4-doors and there will be a lot of other differences to make the car suitable for our market.
