Mercedes Benz will not let anyone enjoy a rival free monopoly and filling in the gap between the GLA and GLE, the much awaited GLC has launched in India at INR 50.70 lakh (ex-showroom Pune) for the 220d variant. The GLC 300 can be bought for INR 50.90 lakh and comes with a petrol heart.
The cars are loaded with technology and are available in 4Matic guise only. It is based on the same platform as the C-class but carries a 33 mm longer wheelbase than the sedan sibling. The 2.0L petrol motor of the GLC 300 is good for 245HP and 370 nm of torque whereas the 2.2L diesel motor produces a max of 170 HP and 400 Nm of torque.
The GLC will rival the segment leaders like BMW X3 and Audi Q5, definitely taking a bit of the values from their sales chart in the coming months. GLC was 1 out of the 12 car launches by Mercedes in 2016. They will be the first luxury car maker to bring nearly whole of the international lineup to India.
