The first-ever MG ZS electric SUV has been recently delivered to the Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL) and it will be used by the government officials employed by the state. Recently launched in India at a starting price tag of INR 20.88 lakh, the MG ZS is the first-ever electric vehicle from the brand for the Indian market. The bookings for the SUV have already been commenced while MG Motor has managed to bag an ample number of bookings within no time.
Initially showcased at the NuGen Mobility Summit 2019 in Manesar, the MG ZS EV is available to the customers in two trims namely Excite and Exclusive, priced at INR 20.88 lakh and INR 23.58 lakh respectively. Both the variants of the electric SUV have been equipped with a standard safety kit which includes ABS, Hill-Start Assist (HSA), ESC, rear parking camera and sensors, hill descent assist as well as 6 airbags.
Powering the MG ZS electric SUV is an IP-67 certified 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack mated to a permanent magnet synchronous motor that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 143HP and a peak torque of 353Nm. It is mated to a single-speed automatic gearbox while claims a range of 340km on a single charge of the battery. The electric SUV from the brand is known to accelerate 0-100kmph in just 8.5 seconds.
The MG ZS EV will be available to the customers with a 7.4kW AC charger that will be duly installed by the brand at home or office and requires only 6 to 7 hours for a full charge. The electric SUV has been equipped with three driving modes while gets three levels of regenerative braking. The customers can pre-book the MG ZS in five major cities namely Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ahmedabad while the brand will further work towards increasing its reach in other Indian cities as well.
