MG Hector was recently spotted in the clearest ever photos, defining the character of the car with two different body finishes that are most probably the two different variants that MG Motor will offer for their first car. The car that comes with chrome outlines and alloy wheels (machine-finished) looks like the top model as the premium paint finish speaks elegance out of the design.
The other car is also seen with the exact same design but here, the silver finished alloy wheels and body outlines, along with a basic shade that looks beautiful on the car reveals the factor that it could serve as the lower priced variant for the brand. The roof colour of the chrome-laden car is not visible clearly while the light-coloured variant comes with the body-coloured finish on the top section.
The rear features an Audi-inspired tail light and well-sculpted bumper. The overall height of MG Hector is worth-praising while the high bonnet confirms a commanding position for the car on the Indian roads. The MG moniker looks great within the mesh grille and both the variants feature the daytime running lights within the eyebrow LED lights.
It is also possible that MG could place both these options at the same price as the choice of chrome can also be an option in all colours. The visible lower bumper section of the car is silver-finished on both the variants. The projector headlights, daytime running lights, and roof rails are expected to be standard on all the variants while the engine options are expected to be shared with different other cars in the industry.
The 2.0L diesel engine will be the same one as Jeep Compass with 170HP of maximum power, while the 1.5L petrol engine will produce 143 HP of power and 250 Nm of torque. The gearbox options have not been revealed yet, though the SUV is expected to be available with 2 transmission options: 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
MG Hector is expected to carry a price tag between INR 15-20 lakh (ex-showroom). The official launch will launch take place in June 2019. The Hector SUV is expected to compete in the market with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier.
